Ethiopia paid €30 million to France Telecom to manage Ethio Telecom(formerly known as ETC)

Ethiopia’s newly established telecom, Ethio Telecom, signed a management agreement on Thursday with France telecom. The Ethiopian government will be paying France telecom, mostly known for its Orange brand, €30 million to manage the new company for the coming two years, APA learns here.
It is the first time in history that Ethiopia is outsourcing a department of its state monopoly telecommunications service provider to an outsider- France Telecom.

37-year-old Nigerian scammer Paul Gabriel Amos convinced Citibank officials to wire him $27 million belonging to Ethiopia. Rather than go with the usual Nigerian nom de plumes like prince or will executor, Famous Amos pretended to be an official with the National Bank of Ethiopia. Amos forged "official-looking" documents that confirmed his status with the central bank and instructed Citibank to await faxes telling them where to send the country's cash.

Eighteen students have been admitted into the new AAU MHA degree program.
