The Ethiopian Roads Authority ERA and a Chinese construction firm signed here on Friday an agreement providing for the construction of Yabelo-Mega Asphalt Concrete Road at a cost of 770 million Birr.According to the agreement, the Chinese construction firm called Tsugi Civil Engineering Group would construct the 97.5 km road,
The road is of the 40 projects planned to be constructed in different parts of the country this year.
The agreement was signed by ERA Director General, Zaid Woldegabriel and Tsugi Civil Engineering Group Representative, Cai Xiaobian.
Speaking on the occasion, Zaid said the road will have a 10 meter-width.
The road passes through Hawassa, Dilla, Fiseha-genet, Yirgachefe, Hageremariam towns, among others.
The road links Ethiopia with neighboring countries.
