St. Louis, MO (KTVI-FOX2Now.com) —
We're used to seeing people line up for free medical or dental care in places like Haiti or Ethiopia. But as jobs vanish and medical costs rise we're now seeing the same thing in the United States.
Union, Missouri dentist Dr. Michael Edwards adopted a child from Ethiopia. The Franklin county dentist had thought about offering a day of free dental care in Ethiopia. But he decided to try it first in Union, MO. His clinic in Union was flooded with people who've been caught up in the slow collapse of the American dream.
The clinic handled a hundred patients on Friday. It's underwritten by a national group called 'Dentistry from the Heart'.
